What is Large Scale Additive Manufacturing (LSAM)?
LSAM signifies a production process where a large-scale 3D printer is used to produce large pieces, generally using industrial robots. The finished product in our case will be made from a recycled polymer called Penylon, from Circular Ocean.
What is the Time Frame for the Project?
The duration of the Ocean-LSAM project is 6 months, it started October 1st, 2022 and it will conclude the 31st of March, 2023.
Where are the Fishing Nets Coming From?
Ocean Tech Hub, Lda, a member of Ocean-LSAM, provides the fishing nets through its work with Circular Ocean in Peniche, Portugal.
Who are the Co-Founders?
In addition to the Ocean-LSAM consortium that already has been presented, the project is also supported by Vinnova, Produktion2030 & Formas who all fund innovation projects, such as Ocean-LSAM.
How is AI Being Used in the Project?
AI will primarily being used in Work Package 3 to help simulate the LSAM process.
